Duc-ee's

Premise: 

Out of luc-ee? Come to Duc-ee’s! 

As a proud employee of a fine establishment in the Duc-ee’s franchise, you shall strive to master the restaurant’s quintessential tradition of serving the customers by delivering their plates to them frisbee-style. To keep everyone safe and happy, don’t keep the customers waiting too long or mess up their orders—some of them might be a bit…impatient.

This game was produced for the Fall 2023 semester of 53-451 Research Issues in Game Development: Designing for XR at Carnegie Mellon University, with the theme of “picnic games,” specifically using the mechanics of frisbee golf.

Tutorial:

Fulfill customers’ orders by frisbee-throwing the food that they order, which appears in a speech bubble by their heads. For the customers to get their food, the food plate that you throw must either hit the customers directly, or the table at which they are seated. Correctly complete as many orders as possible and keep customers as happy as you can before your shift is over! If you are not doing your job well, things may start to look bad…

Controls: 

Aim the red line extending from the hands towards the plate of food you wish to pick up, then click and hold the grip button (button on the side of the controller) to pick up the object. Release the grip button to drop items in your hands. To throw, swing your arm at your desired target and release the grip button to let go, as if you were throwing a frisbee.
